Gorse with Currants
Although Gorse flowers almost all year down here, some years seem to favour it more than others. Here is a clump at the front of our cottages emerging from a background of last year's dead bramble branches, and below that the first florets of Flowering Currant, said by some to smell like cat pee! An extreme view in my opinion. Gorse flowers smell like warm desiccated coconut in hot sunshine.
